Today I was speaking with Ron from BB&T and he was filling me in on the Florida Bond program for first time buyers. The program provides interest free loans for the down payment, on a 30-year fixed loan. There are a few requirements (as mentioned from the website):
“Florida Housing’s First Time Homebuyer Program (FTHB) offers 30-year fixed interest rate mortgage loans to first time homebuyers through its network of participating lenders and lending institutions. However, if you are not a first time homebuyer, you may still be eligible for this program if you are purchasing a home in a GO Zone county, or other federally designated targeted area. This program uses income and purchase price limits to determine eligibility. Additionally a potential homebuyer must complete a 6-8 hour face to face homebuyer education class, be able to qualify for a mortgage, and have a minimum 600 FICO score.”
If you are thinking about buying a home, and with interest rates as low as they are, you should not be paying rent, and you are first time buyer, then you need to give Ron or myself a call and talk about it. You could be in a home by the end of October!

There are lots of great opportunities in the market, so don’t miss the lowest interest rates in over 30 years.
Have a great day!
